Heart, Mind, Body and What?

Luke 10:27
And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord they God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and will all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself.

Heart and Mind - okay this is self explanatory.
Strength? . . . okay let's take this to mean the 'strength' of the Body.
Soul? . . . is the soul different from the heart?

And what's this? - 'and thy neighbor as thyself' - could this be important. . . maybe a little or . . . foundational to the rest?

So how do we love the Lord with each of these?
  • Heart
  • Mind
  • Body
  • Soul

3 Realities

Reality 1:       Inspired Reality
(Based on Love & Trust – Win / Win)
Reality 2:       Competitive Reality
(Based on Selfishness & Mistrust – Win / Lose)
Reality 3:       Destructive Reality
(Based on Fear & Hate – Lose / Lose)

The evidence of 3 distinct psychic realities is depicted in the following story:

The Judgment of Solomon is recounted in 1Kings 3:16-28.  In this story Solomon ruled between two women both claiming to be the mother of a child.

·      Reality 2: One of the women claimed that the other, after accidentally smothering her own son while sleeping, had exchanged the two children to make it appear that the living child was hers. The other woman denied this and so both women claimed to be the mother of the living son and said that the dead boy belonged to the other.
·      King Solomon declared there was only one fair solution: the live son must be split in two, each woman receiving half of the child.

·      Reality 1: The boy's true mother cried out, "Please, My Lord, give her the live child—do not kill him!"

·      Reality 3: However, the liar, in her bitter jealousy, exclaimed, "It shall be neither mine nor yours—divide it!"
·      Solomon instantly gave the live baby to the real mother, realizing that the true mother's instincts were to protect her child, while the liar revealed that she did not truly love the child.

First Blog

My wife is wonderful and my kids are too.  All in all – I’m a work in progress.

This blog is a place to put my ramblings with the intent to help the world become a better place – starting with myself.

Thinking deeply for the determination and discovery of truth has always entranced my soul.  I believe that life is a journey that allows us the opportunity to improve ourselves.  God is always at the door waiting; all we must do is open it.

I am a philosopher and evidently am willing to be corrected.   However, my thoughts typically have much reasoning and possibly inspiration behind them.  They are typically like an iceberg – the majority are under the surface.  I have tried to bring structure to my ideas and feelings so they can be shared and easily assimilated.
Please do not discard my ideas at face value; but please comment if desired.
